I am a comics creator, researcher, instructor, and poetry and prose writer – as well as a freelance artist, writer, and editor. I am currently leading cultural coursework at Metropolitan State University in Denver and continuing to research international comics culture, with multiple articles, an edited volume on Comics and Their Publics (with Benjamin Woo), and a book manuscript on Delhi’s comics scene in progress. At the same time, I am cultivating my comics career with projects from The Dick Pic of Dorian Grey (with Zak Kinsella) to a contribution to the upcoming BLOCKED anthology and my own smaller stories.
As an academic, my creative background and practice provide a strong foundation from which to perform ethnographic research, support students, and otherwise flourish as a scholar. As a creator, my experiences as an editor, writing tutor, creative writer, and researcher have strengthened my commitment to storytelling practice. Each of these commitments is one part of my larger goal of bettering the stories that we tell and the meanings that we find in them.
