Update: Bear With Me

And so it (officially) begins!
And yes, I was a bit late getting started — apologies for the delay, but I’ve been fighting a sinus infection for the last few days, so getting this new comic ready to go took longer than planned. That said, here it is, the first official Great Bear Comic — #0 — a one-pager of awesome —

A lot of experimentation went into this comic — and thus the multiple media involved and the unfortunate pencils that hide much of the detail in the bear. I hope to post a corrected version (which should happen soon, since I have the bear fixed in a new version (thanks to physical means of correction — i.e. erasers) but the ink mistakes I fixed in this version not so much)) in the near future.
Now, a low down of what GBC is meant to be: a place for you to read my comics and visual narratives, sure. But what happens after this month of various things? My plan right now is to post two things twice a month (a chapter of an illustrated novel and a regular strip) and two other things once a month (3 to 6 page installments of a regular comic I’m working on and excerpts from a more graphical novel I’m working on, too).

Beyond my work, though, I also want to do more collaborations — I’ve got a few in the works, but if you’re interested in working on something with me, drop me a line. Given how things are going so far this summer, I might be terribly busy — but let me know anyways!

There’s also the chance of recipes, lists of song mixes, and more ordinary blog fare — let me know in the comments if you’d like to see any of that sort of thing, and I’ll add it to the list of stuff for GBC (as I pretty much do all of those regularly, albeit not in the blogosphere). I’ll also be posting info about buying comics and such — I’m working out details for mail order stuff, possibly.

In the next post, which is actually for tomorrow, the 2nd — i.e. today, as I’m posting after midnight — you’ll see my first comic book EVER. TOTALLY unedited, COMPLETELY embarrassing, and UNFORTUNATELY written and drawn when I was between the ages of 18 and 20. It’s pretty…weird. Especially for me, looking back at it, and being like, ‘what the hell was I thinking?’

Growlingly yours (especially with this darn sinus headache)…
